The Surroundings
While staff is preparing the surfaces to be painted, the same attention is given to gardens and paths. All flowers, shrubs, bushes and walks that could be damaged are covered and/or marked for maximum protection.
Outside Surfaces
Ever wondered why the outside of the building you admired last year is starting to fade and peel the next? The key is in the preparation.
At Clean Edge, meticulous preparation of all surfaces is the number one priority. Without the knowledge and attention to “prep”, no paint job will last.
The staff at Clean Edge walk each client through the necessary steps required to obtain a professional and lasting paint result.
Normally, either chemical or high pressure water washing is required. This step is absolutely essential to remove surface debris and/or the algae and mildew associated with the damp climate of Greater Vancouver.
Next, a thorough scraping removes any loose material that could impede the proper adherence of paint to the surface.
Once the surface has been prepared to the high standards maintained at Clean Edge, only top quality oil-based primer is applied to seal the prepared wood surfaces.
For the ultimate finish, a minimum of two coats of high quality finish paint is applied.
Inside
To ensure both a professional finish and long lasting durability, Clean Edge consistently follows its steps to success.
First, all personal possessions in the painting area are covered to protect them.
Second, all walls are lightly sanded as required to remove any soil or oils and to “rough up” the finish so it will allow maximum paint adherence.
The final step in interior preparation is to fill all holes created from hanging pictures, as well as any minor imperfections that could detract from the new finish. Switch plates and electrical plug covers are also removed to create the perfect professional impression of the finished rooms.
